Legalisation of Documents

The Consular Section undertakes verification and confirmation of the authenticity of documents issued by relevant authorities in Ghana. These documents include birth/ death certificates, marriage/ divorce certificates, declaration of bachelor/ spinster status, driver’s license, criminal check certificates and academic certificates.

Requirements:

Before documents are submitted to the Embassy for attestation, they must primarily be:


• Notarized by a Notary Public in Ghana;
  
• Certified by the Judicial Service of Ghana with the high court seal covering them;
  
• Endorsed by the Legal and Consular Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra;
  
• In the case of customary marriage/divorce certificates, applicants must obtain a verification letter from the local registry in Ghana where the marriage was registered;
  
• Processing fee of 5,000 FCFA to be paid through any of the acceptable modes of payment;
  
• Completed application form to be submitted together with the original and copy of the document.
  



Authentication of Documents

The Consular Section notarizes the validity of documents emanating from Ghana, to be used by holders in Niger. The documents include birth/death certificates, marriage/divorce certificates, declaration of bachelor/spinster status, driver’s license, criminal check certificates and academic certificates.

Requirements:

• Completed application form;
  
• Original and copy of document;
  
• Processing fee of 5,000 FCFA to be paid through any of the acceptable modes of payment.
  



Issuance of Consular Cards (First Application or Renewal)

• Processing fee of 3,000 FCFA to be paid through any of the acceptable modes of payment.
